Eric Foreman believes his life's off-track when he loses his job in New York and has to take his old job back at Princeton-Plainsboro, and he's not looking forward to trying to control House for Cuddy. Amber Volakis is completely confident that she'll win a spot on House's diagnostics team, and she'll do anything in order to win. Meeting unexpectedly, the two are at first resentful of each other--Amber for Foreman's interference in House's game, and Foreman for Amber's defiance and disrespect. They're both driven, both perfectionists, both certain of what they want. And that might just turn out to be each other.
